About Anton Oosthuizen

Anton’s eclectic stage performance is a hit with a broad spectrum of clientele, having toured extensively throughout South Africa and Namibia with over 1500 live performances to his name.

Corporate clients include: Shoprite, Hillebrand Group, Liberty Life, Growth Point, Hyundai, Working on Fire, Sanlam, BMW, Sun International, Audiosure, Pam Golding, RE/MAX, Sotheby’s, Ecolab, and many more.

Anton started his musical career as a singer/songwriter in the highly original and innovative rock group God’s Zoo. The band enjoyed short-lived success after three of their songs successively entered Barney Simon’s Modern Rock chart, and the single “War” peaked at number 3, competing with international acts of the time.

Anton’s composition “Shine” was another hit and a top 10 finalist in the nationwide Coca-Cola/Virgin Records songwriting competition.

WERKLOOS

His first Afrikaans project entitled “Werkloos” with childhood friend and lyricist Michael Raubenheimer, a cutting-edge journalist at De Kat Magazine, made headways in Gauteng. Werkloos released an EP titled “n Hart vir Gillooly’s” and became an instant cult classic in the alternative Afrikaans market. Their beautiful melodies and intellectual lyrics gained critical acclaim throughout the local industry. The first single, “Enkeling,” went straight to number 1 on East Rand Stereo and was later released on several local community radio stations.

Werkloos was approached by Audiosure South Africa to become one of the official endorsees and product ambassadors for Warfedale, Samson, and Allen and Heath.
